My work with Amstel Light focused on connecting with the weekend bogey golfer. The brand’s tonality looked to capture their voice while we looked to work within platform best practices and with trends that made sense for the brand.

Amstel’s April Fools’ Day

The holiday has largely been played out by brands. I looked to create something that our community could get behind and involved in, rather than just checking a box.

Golf can be frustrating and Amstel Light was fed up. We needed a new, relaxing hobby. That is why, on April Fools 2021, Amstel Light became the #OfficialBeerOfNeedlepoint. 

Amstel learned needlepoint vernacular, celebrated the hobby, and even commissioned a needlepoint bottle to give to one of our lucky fans. 

Did we fool a lot of folks? Probably not, but given the number of needlepoint belts on the course these days we showed some love for two communities that are closer to each other than you might normally think.
